Hey Everyone! Marsh here. I haven’t written in a while, but when the new webkinz spritz and lip gloss came out, I just had to write about them.

Personally, I dont think I will purchase Webkinz Body Spray or Lipgloss. I’m not interested in paying over $5 for “makeup” just because it has a webkinz label. They will be almost as much as lil kinz! I think the salon theme is pretty cool, but I wouldn’t buy these new products just for it. However, some people really want this theme. But it seems that Webkinz was a little gender specif when planning new products.

Boys are not going to want to be seen buying “makeup”. Members said this on the forum, and I agree, its not fair to the boys who play webkinz:

Memtab:It is unfair for all of us boys! But I still REALLY want the theme!

JordanKiesel: Im a boy too! and i like the theme too! But I dont want the stuff that you have to buy to get it! why dont they make boy stuff? its not just girls that play on webkinz. I was at some place and i was wearing my charm bracelet and someone asked me if i played on webkinz, i said yes and someone else said they did too! And there were only 4 people there including me! me two other boys and 1 girl, the girl and one of the boys played webkinz.

Hollisterco48: L deff agree!! i mean there is charm bracelets, necklaces, body spray, and lipgloss. I feel bad for the guys. They have no webkinz things that are just meant for guys!

Also, I think Ganz forgot their target market. I thought Webkinz is supposed to be a place for everyone to enjoy, including younger children. I dont know about you, but I wouldnt want my 5 year old or even 9 year old strutting around with perfume and makeup.

Some people on the Kinz-Land have thought up some ideas which I think are much better than makeup:

IHeartWebkinz: They should make something more for boys. Like Webkinz Candy Bars that come with a feature code! LOL I am serious! It could unlock something from the Candy-Land exclusive room theme! Yay! LOL The feature code could be on the inside of the wrapper

Pinkwink4: I am a girl and I have cousins that are boys that plkay with webkinz and I think Ganz should make baseballs and soccerballs that unlock sport games and sport shops online and a soccer or baseball theme !

I really think Webkinz didnt think about the downsides to these new beauty items.

Thanks to Cuddleyone for finding these pictures of the new Salon Theme(Found on another site)! I’ll get to the pictures, but first, let me give you some information on the products.

 Both Webkinz LipGloss and Webkinz BodySpritz come with a special webkinz feature code. With each feature code you get to pick 1 piece of furniture from the salon theme out of a whole collection! That will be a LOT of lip gloss and bodyspritz to collect the whole theme! (I wonder how much it will cost!) Anyway, here are the pictures I promised:

Webkinzare growing in numbers. It’s as if they are multiplying, it seems - with more and more Webkinz being bought and produced, it’s made me wonder about an underlying fact about Webkinz.

Ganz are releasing TONS of new Webkinz stuff in time for Christmas, which is great for us… however there is also another more alarming point that arises with the recent surge in Webkinz sales.

What happens when Ganz run out of ideas and exhaust all possibilities that Webkinz can handle? What happens if Ganz cannot think of any new features to add to Webkinz World? 

You see - the people at Ganz all have to come up with ideas and features which the company Ganz can then make into Webkinz World features. This form of brainstorming can only, under all circumstances, add a certain amount of features and ideas to Webkinz World.

It’s these ideas and features that we, the Webkinz World players, pick up and enjoy with our Webkinz in their own little virtual Webkinz World. This means that the ideas and features in Webkinz World have to also be liked and enjoyed by us, the Webkinz World player, in order for the Webkinz Ideas to work.

Think about all of the Webkinz World features that we have now - no-one dislikes any of the features, however many new features and ideas will simply be not to the tastes of some Webkinz World players.

All I am trying to say is that Webkinz World is growing, but for how much longer can Ganz give us the feautres and ideas that we want in Webkinz World?

Unlucky

Chapter 4: Friday the 13th of October.

Lucky was so upset. She never wanted to back to school. She hated everyone. She hated Bailey for making her go to school, she hated classmates, she hated her father for abandoning her, and most of all, she hated herself. She ran as fast as she could, and her legs lead her to an odd place: The W-Pond. It was night and a thick blanket of fog covered the pond, just as it did the night Lucky was born. It happened to be the same night, several years later.

Lucky threw herself upon the bench for an answer, any answer to her troubles. Nothing came. Lucky began to cry, and suddenly it began to pour. Lucky heard thunder and saw flashes of lighting. She decided she should return to Bailey’s, even though she had no desire to.

Along the way, Lucky had to walk down Main Street, the busiest street in Kinzville. The rain was still pouring hard. Lucky saw a figure walking in the rain. She strained to see what it was, then realized it was the monkey form class. Lucky wondered why she was walking in the rain alone.

Suddenly, a car swerved off the road, right toward the monkey, Lucky leaped and pushed her out of the way.

Once they were safe, the monkey spoke.

“You.. you just.. saved me..” she said slowly.

“Yes. Are you alright now?” asked Lucky.

“Thanks to you!! I’m sorry I was mean to you Lucky. You arent unlucky to be with, your lucky! I’m really sorry. Will you forgive me?” said the monkey.

“Yes.” said Lucky.

“Oh good! My name is Mary by the way” she said, just as the police came to the scene.

“This is what caused the accident I assume” said the cop, motioning toward Lucky. “The driver must have been so spooked to see her”

“She saved me!!!!!!!” shouted Mary.

The driver stepped from his car. He was a Persian cat. He spoke…”It’s true sir. I swerved because of this rain, and the cat saved the monkey from her death, risking her own life.”

The Persian cat looked at Lucky. Suddenly, things clicked.

“Is that you???” he asked her.

The cops and Mary looked so confused, but Lucky understood. It was her father driving that car.

“Yes” she said, looking at her father.

“I thought I would never see you again!! It was so wrong what I did to you when you were younger. I’m sorry hunny” he said, running to hug his daughter.

Webkinz have become a blinding success in the two and a bit years that they’ve been around us. Now that Webkinz are a huge hit - just like most famous things, they are starting to get… errrm… similar coutnerparts.

Webkinz were created by Ganz in 2005 and have now taken America and Canada by storm! The latest Webkinz, the Black Cat Webkinz has been snapped up almost instantaneously. The Black Cat Webkinz was meant to come out for Halloween, but, as with most commercial products now, the Black Cat Webkinz has found its way onto our shelves and Webkinz Stores two months prior to Halloween. If you’ve already got a webkinz black cat, then you might want to name it with our 40 Names For Your Webkinz Black Cat article.

Because Webkinz have become so popular, many people are trying their best to take some of that “thunder” and use the now powerful Webkinz brand to their advantage. Many Webkinz sites online now have been a culpret of this, but are changing now.

One of the biggest reasons why Webkinz has become so popular is not only because of their amazingly high quality, or their extra cute designs, but because of how many people actually use and play on Webkinz World. Webkinz now has an estimated 4 million players. With that many other people has potential “friends”, many kids across the country are tuning in to Webkinz as a passtime they can enjoy with the majority of their friends.

4 Million people playing Webkinz World means that at least 4 million Webkinz have been sold, which acts as tasty bait for Webkinz rivals & competitors. One of the most well known Webkinz competitors is Shining Stars, which has been the source of a large debate in Our Webkinz Forum.

Shining Stars are, admittedly, almost a carbon copy of most Webkinz. With the same animal designs and the same idea of having secret codes used on a virtual Internet world, much like Webkinz World.

The only real difference that can be deduced between Shining Stars & Webkinz is the fact that Webkinz are generally better designed, with more elaborate and exotic materials being used on the Webkinz Animals.

Although Shining Stars are O.K, they are nothing special in my view. Their descriptions and prices all seem to suggest a weaker competitor to Webkinz and Webkinz World. Webkinz pride themselves on quality Webkinz Stuffed Animals at a price which reflects both the popularity of the Webkinz toys and the quality of the products.

Shining Stars, although they do look cute and adorable, don’t seem to be up to standard as far as quality is concerned. Webkinz also boast a bigger fanbase which is always going to win fans over to the Webkinz camp.

The biggest selling point for the Shining Stars is the fact that whenever you purchase a Shining Star, you get to name your own star, as well as have some proceeds automatically donated to charity - something that Webkinz currently does not do.

However the big sticking point with this, as any charitible business venture, is the fact that people buy a product such as Webkinz or Shining Stars because they like the product. If they wanted to doate to charity, I am sure they will take the time to do that seperately. The same goes for naming a star; whereby the star naming probably costs a fee for the Shining Stars company, which could be saved and passed onto the end user.

However you look at it - Shining Stars have performed a sure-fire marketing trait: Sell what’s already selling. Webkinz are currently HUGE and are also big business… something that Russ Berrie have seen and taken hold of with some pretty good results.

Shining Stars look to have started to advertise on TV, whilst Webkinz currently don’t need to delve into the depths of mass advertising just yet, with the huge popularity surge they are currently experiencing.

Personally - Webkinz are more appealing to me. Webkinz offers a more friendly, focused and popular Webkinz World to us, the Webkinz fans… whilst Shining Stars currently seems like a “gamble” to buy. By this, I mean they are the type of toy that you would probably buy once to check them out and see if you liked them… if you didn’t then it would be ony $15 down the drain.

Webkinz are the only stuffed animals for me - Shining Stars isn’t popular enough for me yet but still I will give them 10/10 for effort!

Unlucky:

Chapter 3: Old School Charm.

So Lucky went to live with Bailey and Phil. They taught her lots of things until she was old enough to go to school. Lucky thought she was becoming less unlucky. She had only been breaking something once a week instead of every day! However, by the time Lucky started school, her luck had run out!

When Lucky was old enough she had to start attending school. However, she didnt exactally fit in at Fluffington Elementry. All the other children had been going there for a few years, but Lucky had been homeschooled.

On her first day of school, when she walked into the classroom, everyone just stared. Lucky walked to sit in the front row, the only desk open. On her way, she accidently tripped the teacher. Everyone laughed. Even the teacher. But Lucky didnt find it funny. They got to make name tags the first day. Everyone’s was in the shape of a lucky houseshoe. But Lucky made hers upside down, an unlucky horseshoe. The monkey who sat next to Lucky tapped on her should.

“You made it wrong, Stupid! Now all your luck will fall out. “, the monkey said loud enough for everyone to hear. Everyone laughed. But Lucy didnt find it funny. She walked up to the teacher.

“I made my horseshoe wrong. Now its unlucky. Can I have a new one?” asked Lucky.

“No. I guess you just have to live with that” said the teacher.

As Lucky returned to her seat, someone had pulled out the chair, so she sat down on thin air, and fell on her tail. Everyone laughed. But Lucky didnt find it funny.

At lunch, Lucky couldnt find a place to sit. She saw the monkey who sat next to her in class. She walked over to her.

“Can I sit here?” asked Lucky.

Everyone at the table stared.  A pink poodle at the table spoke to her.

“Sorry, this is a bad-luck free zone. No black cats allowed”

Lucky felt so alone. She wanted to go back to Bailey and Phil’s. Atleast they loved her. All of the tables were filled. The only open spot was underneath the broken ceiling the janitor was fixing. She walked over.

“Excuse me Sir, can I sit here?” she asked the Cocker Spaniel janitor.

“If you want bad luck!” said the janitor.

Lucky didnt know what he was talking about, until she noticed that the table was under a ladder. Lucky ate her lunch there.

Lucky returned home in tears. So many bad things had happened to her at school. She was the most unlucky cat in the world. Bailey and Phil tried to comfort her, but it was no use. Lucky was just terribly unlucky it seemed.

The students were asked to bring in their good luck charm for show and tell for the next day, so the following morning, Lucky’s second day, she packed up her mirror shard.

At school, the students took turns sharing their good luck charms.

“This is my lucky horseshoe necklace. My daddy gave it to me after I won my first race” said a Clydesdale when it was her turn.

“This is my lucky four leaf clover” said a Golden Retriever when it was his turn.

“These are my lucky fuzzy dice, Snake Eyes” said a Black Lab. He reminded Lucky of Phil.

Finally it was Lucky’s turn. She approached the front of the room, hoping she wouldnt trip.

“TTThis is my good luck charm,” she said holding out the mirror piece. She spoke timidly. “I found it. When my parents adopted me…”

The class apruted into mutters.

“Thats why she is so strange, she was adopted!”

“I bet she broke that mirror!”

“7 years of bad luck!”

“Um, anyway, my mom, well, adopted mom, uh, it broke and, um..” said Lucky in a pusillanimous tone.

“She’s such a freak!”

“I bet her birthday is Friday the 13th!!”

“It is!” said Lucky.

“A black cat born on Friday the 13 who carries around a broken mirror piece and eats under a ladder? What an unlucky freak!!!” declared the monkey she sat next to.

Lucky ran from the room. She couldnt take it. She held her mirror piece tight, and ran and ran…

Chapter 2: Superstition

The next morning a blanket of fog covered the lake. It was certainly an ominous looking morning, yet two labs were out for a run.

“I’m tired Phil. Can we take a rest?” huffed the chocolate lab.

“Sure thing Bailey” said the black lab, sitting down on a bench.

“Its so foggy today! You can scarcely see a thing!” comment Bailey.

All was silent for a few minutes, except the huffing and puffing of the two dogs, and the sound of snores.

“Do you here that?” questioned Bailey after a few minutes.

“Here what?” said Phil, looking at her like she had 3 heads.

“The snoring! It sounds like a a baby. ” said Bailey, getting irritated at her husband.

“THERE IS NO SNORING!!!” shouted Phil, for he had a very short temper.

“Meowww”

“Phil, there is something here! A cat” said Bailey, looking around franticly. She couldnt see anything because of the fog, but she sprung from her seat and began walking around the park. She didnt have to go far, because the sound was coming from the bench adjacent to theirs.

The sound was growing louder, she Bailey could find the source. She approached the bench, only to find a little kitten wrapped up in a cloth, and a single hand held mirror.

“Thats odd” said Bailey as she picked up the mirror. She was examining it, when all of a sudden it shattered.

“Oh no!!! 7 years of bad luck!!!!!!!!” screamed Bailey. The little kitten was curious to see what the noise was, she she emerged from her cloth.

“OH NO!!!! A BLACK CAT!!!!! CROSSING MY PATH!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The kitten looked up at the dog, who at this point was running around screaming. The black cat walked over to where the shards of mirror were, and picked up one in her mouth.

“I’m sorry” whispered the cat. “Please stop shouting, its hurting my ears. ”

“Sorry. Its just not everyday oyu see a black cat next to a broken mirror.” said Bailey.

By this point, Phil was running over to see what the problem was.

“Oh no! Bailey, get away, before it crosses your path!”

“Too late Phil. But this kitty is just a baby. I dont think she will get her unlucky hormones until she is 13. ”

“You thought wrong” muttered the cat.

“What?” questioned Phil and Bailey at once.

“I am unlucky! I was born on Friday the 13th, my mom died giving birth, my dad hated me for it, so he brought me here. Then this mirror blow here last night. It shattered, now you have bad luck. I’m a black cat. Of course I’m bad luck!” said the cat, starting to tear up.

“No, hunny, you arent unlucky, you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. You are the luckiest cat I know!” said Bailey.

“Why is that??” said the cat through her tears.

“Because today you get parents. We’ll take you in, and raise you. We dont have any children of our own, but now we will! What do you say hunny?” Bailey told her.

“Oh my! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!” exclaimed the kitten.

“Do you have a name?” asked Phil.

“I dont think so” said the cat.

“We’ll call you Lucky!” said Bailey. “Now, lets go home and get you some food. Put that piece of glass down, its dangerous.”

Lucky remember she was still holding the mirror piece. “Can I hold on to it? I think its my good luck charm”

“Oh, of course dear!” said Bailey.

They begin to walk down the street, but father away from Lucky’s fathers house. She wondered if she would ever see him again…

Lizzy the Lion Cub

Ever since she could remember, Lizzy the Lion Cub wanted a mane. Not just any old mane, but a nice thick dark one that would sit on her head like a crown.

“But you can’t have a mane,” said her Mother. “You’re a girl. Only boys have manes.”

Lizzy thought this very unfair. And she moped around the den for a while wondering what she could do about it? Then she had an idea. She would go and see Osmund, the wise old Monkey.

“All my brothers have nice long manes,” she complained to Osmund. “And I’m as bald as an egg.”

Osmund put on his spectacles, and peered for a long time at Lizzy’s head. Then he gave her a bottle of hair tonic, and told her to rub it on three times a day.

But it didn’t work. Even although Lizzy poured so much of it on that it dripped into her ears. There wasn’t as much as a tuft of hair on her whole head.

“I think it’s making you balder,” teased her brothers. And they laughed at her as they combed their manes.

Lizzy was disappointed and angry. “I want my money back,” she told Osmund. “That nasty old stuff you gave me didn’t work.”

Osmund leaned back in his chair - which was a very high one, for he was so tall - and stayed deep in thought. “Okay,” he said at last. “I have another idea.” And so it was that Lizzy returned home with a head full of ostrich feathers. She felt very proud of herself for now she had a mane - at least of sorts - and she strutted a bit as she walked.

“You look ridiculous,” laughed her brothers. “Take off the bird hat before our friends see it.” And they followed her around the den trying to grab at the feathers.

“Leave her alone,” said their mother, and chased them outside.

But despite all the teasing Lizzy continued to wear the feathers. She spent a lot of time studying her reflection in a pool, and had decided that although they were not as nice as a real mane, they were better than being bald. She did, however, find them annoying at times.

The feather mane made her head hotter in summer, and sometimes it got into her eyes and she couldn’t see properly. It also took a lot of time to brush and comb and get the knots out.

One day, Lizzy and her brothers were playing on the riverbank. It had been raining and they got very muddy. “We’ll have the devil of a time getting this muck out of our manes,” said her brothers, as they jumped into the river for a bath.

And while they were still bathing, and helping each other clean up their manes, Lizzy pulled off her own feather mane - which was coated with mud - and threw it away. Then she quickly swam ashore and beat everyone home for tea.

Lizzy felt freer and lighter without the mane and there was never any difficulty seeing. She didn’t miss the time spent grooming it either.

“You look lovely without it,” said her mother, and Lizzy, peering at her reflection, very happily agreed. I do look great with out a mane. I guess everyone is made in their own special way.
