As we reported not so long ago, new Webkinz are coming out very soon! These include the Webkinz Turtle, Webkinz Seal, Webkinz Yellow Lab, Webkinz German Shepherd, Webkinz Arabian Horse, Webkinz Pinto Horse, Webkinz Lil Kinz Leopard, Webkinz Lil Kinz Koala, Webkinz Lil Kinz St Bernard, Webkinz Lil Kinz Black Bear, Webkinz Charcoal Cat and Webkinz Lil Kinz Googles.
Well, today Webkinz Land learned of the official release dates set by Ganz on these new Webkinz! Now, having experienced many new introductions into the Webkinz family, I can say that although these dates are official, you probably won’t see the Webkinz for at least a week or two from that date. It’s just the way Ganz’s logisitcs are unfortunately!!
Anyway - here’s the official release dates of Brand New Upcoming Webkinz:
We posted the brand new official pictures of the upcoming webkinz today as have several other Webkinz sites, however it’s made me think about Ganz and the future of Webkinz in general.
You see, Webkinz is still as fun to me as it was when I got my first webkinz, however I am wondering now as to how far the dream can last??
I mean it’s sad to see a Webkinz retire like we have seen already this year, but how many more Webkinz can Ganz be really thinking of bringing out? It’s not like they can go ahead and make tons and tons of new webkinz because they will all simply loose ALL of their value!
Think about it - Ganz are bringing out a Webkinz Arabian Horse and a Webkinz Pinto Horse soon. Along with the Clydesdale and the Black Stallion that makes 4 horses that all have the same design but different colors. To me, that means that I have a choice of 4 Webkinz horses instead of 4 single Webkinz animals. I feel that they will become just another Webkinz in the collection, which is *bad* for the brand I feel.
They also have to watch out what animals they plan on making. Because Webkinz World is the way it is, it would not suit a bird Webkinz or even an insect Webkinz as it would be very uncomfortable for them. Imagine a wasp Webkinz or even a golden eagle webkinz! They just wouldn’t fit in Webkinz World, I don’t think!
There’s also one other thing that determines what kind of Webkinz Ganz can make next: Us.
If we, the people who buy the Webkinz, don’t like and therefore don’t buy the Webkinz - Ganz will have a major league problem on their hands as they will not be able to sell their Webkinz!!
On this ilk, we also have to look at the new Webkinz that Ganz are going to bring us. These Webkinz are in the form of horses, dogs and bears… ALL of which are already around Webkinz World. I can see a day soon where people will get bored of a different color horse Webkinz being brought out, or something similar.
The only condolence here is the new seal Webkinz, which is a totally new type of animal in Webkinz World! Although I can’t imagine how it will get around or even wear clothes yet, I can see that if it proves popular, then Ganz will have a lifeline to create more inventive Webkinz with.
I guess what I’m getting at is that I am wondering how long Ganz can keep just making new Webkinz from the same family of animals without us getting bored of them all? The seal may bring some relief but I don’t know how long Ganz can go on for until they run out of plausible animals to put in Webkinz World.
Ganz are already diversifying their product range with such things as Webkinz Charms and other Webkinz merchandise which makes me believe that some kids are already getting bored of the stuffed animal Webkinz, however the new Webkinz Seal might change all that!
It will be interesting to see what Ganz come up with next as far as Webkinz are concerned!
