According to a recent Webkinz survey on our Webkinz Blog, Kinz-Land has discovered that the Webkinz Craze is currently so huge that 18% of kids using our Webkinz Site own 20 or more Webkinz!
For a period of two weeks, Kinz-Land posted a poll on our Webkinz Blog to which 677 users of our Webkinz Site filled in a response.
Of those responses, we are happy to show you a pie chart of our findings:
As you can see, of the 677 responses, 274 admitted they own they own 0-5 Webkinz; 173 said they own 6-10 Webkinz, 125 replied that they own 11-20 Webkinz; however 125 said they own 20+ Webkinz! That accounts for around 1/5th of Kids on our site owning 20+ Webkinz!!
If almost 1/5th of Kids have 20+ Webkinz, we can do a little bit of estimating. Considering recent estimates think that Webkinz has 4 million players, if we take those 4 million players and say that 1/5th have 20 Webkinz…
That means that 800,000 Kids have over 20 Webkinz. If we then do some further math and say that each of those 800,000 will have an average of 20 Webkinz, that means collectively they have 16,000,000 Webkinz Stuffed Animals… minimum!
Considering that the Black Cat Webkinz is on sale now ready for Halloween, I wonder how many Webkinz Stuffed Animals there actually are in circulation in Canada and the US?!?
You can purchase the Black Cat Webkinz at our own Kinz-Land Webkinz Store for around $8 + P&P.
Thanks to one of our Webkinz Forum members, Jungle Dude, we have a rare picture of the un-released Penguin Webkinz.
The penguin Webkinz is considered to be one of the cutest Webkinz to enter Webkinz World and can now be seen by everyone in his full glory!
The Webkinz Penguin is due to be released on November 12 2007, according to our Webkinz Release Dates post. We are now trying to come up with some Penguin Webkinz names ready for when the Penguin Webkinz comes out!
Lucky was so upset. She never wanted to back to school. She hated everyone. She hated Bailey for making her go to school, she hated classmates, she hated her father for abandoning her, and most of all, she hated herself. She ran as fast as she could, and her legs lead her to an odd place: The W-Pond. It was night and a thick blanket of fog covered the pond, just as it did the night Lucky was born. It happened to be the same night, several years later.
Lucky threw herself upon the bench for an answer, any answer to her troubles. Nothing came. Lucky began to cry, and suddenly it began to pour. Lucky heard thunder and saw flashes of lighting. She decided she should return to Bailey’s, even though she had no desire to.
Along the way, Lucky had to walk down Main Street, the busiest street in Kinzville. The rain was still pouring hard. Lucky saw a figure walking in the rain. She strained to see what it was, then realized it was the monkey form class. Lucky wondered why she was walking in the rain alone.
Suddenly, a car swerved off the road, right toward the monkey, Lucky leaped and pushed her out of the way.
Once they were safe, the monkey spoke.
“You.. you just.. saved me..” she said slowly.
“Yes. Are you alright now?” asked Lucky.
“Thanks to you!! I’m sorry I was mean to you Lucky. You arent unlucky to be with, your lucky! I’m really sorry. Will you forgive me?” said the monkey.
“Yes.” said Lucky.
“Oh good! My name is Mary by the way” she said, just as the police came to the scene.
“This is what caused the accident I assume” said the cop, motioning toward Lucky. “The driver must have been so spooked to see her”
“She saved me!!!!!!!” shouted Mary.
The driver stepped from his car. He was a Persian cat. He spoke…”It’s true sir. I swerved because of this rain, and the cat saved the monkey from her death, risking her own life.”
The Persian cat looked at Lucky. Suddenly, things clicked.
“Is that you???” he asked her.
The cops and Mary looked so confused, but Lucky understood. It was her father driving that car.
“Yes” she said, looking at her father.
“I thought I would never see you again!! It was so wrong what I did to you when you were younger. I’m sorry hunny” he said, running to hug his daughter.

I hope you enjoyed it! Please tell me what you think on the Webkinz Land Forum!
Everyone knows the story of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” whereby a fictional character named Willy Wonka has a chocolate factory filled with chocolate lakes and chocolate waterfalls. He has many little helpers who run around and make all the chocolate bars that the factory makes.
The Willy Wonka chocolate factory is a factory which no “normal” person has seen inside or even heard about what happens within. The factory is kept an utter secret and is the source of huge debate within the community it serves.
If you can remember the story, the Chocolate factory is one which so many people want to get into that Willy Wonka holds a “golden ticket” contest whereby he put several golden tickets into his chocolate bars, which could then be won by kids all over the country.
Well, for those of you who are intuitive, I guess you know where this is headed… but look at what we have on our hands with Webkinz:
We have kids all over the country looking for Webkinz and are buying them by the handful. They are so popular that shortages are sometimes a problem, but not so much now. Ganz, the parent company of Webkinz, are keeping all their Webkinz statistics a secret, in that they will not reveal how many Webkinz have been sold, etc.
This has created a sense of mystery and wonder with Ganz and what they do. This, in turn has made many Webkinz lovers actually want to see where all the Webkinz are made and where they come from - purely out of interest.
Now Ganz are in Canada and are a pretty “shy” company to put it one way. Especially with their Webkinz Stuffed Animals Toys, Ganz are looking more and more like the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory which is so alike the Webkinz factory.
This has lead me to come up with a great idea for Ganz! Willy Wonka realized that kids everywhere want to see the Chocolate factory and gave out a select few Golden Tickets in order to make that dream come true for a few kids.
Ganz have a similar situation right now. They have a product which kids LOVE and are buying lots of and have a factory which almost none of their market have seen. Hey? You know what - why don’t Ganz offer a secret Ticket Contest to go and see their factory!?
Ganz could include 5 special secret Webkinz codes with their stuff animals or Webkinz Charms, or whatever and then when those secret codes are registered on Webkinz World - the winner is notified with a message on screen!!
The contest could be an expenses paid trip for the winner and their parents / family to visit the Webkinz Factory at Ganz’s headquarters and see how Ganz operate and Webkinz are made!
Ganz could even give the winners every single Webkinz for free on their contest winning visit - which would be extremely generous of them!
I personally think it would be a greatidea. Webkinz lovers everywhere will be snapping up the cute stuffed animal toys like wild fire, thus creating more Webkinz World players, as well as giving 5 lucky Webkinz fans the chance to meet the people who make Webkinz!
Webkinz Pet Of The Monthis here! Finally, a guide to tell us Webkinz Lovers what to purchase is here!
News in the hood says that Webkinz makers Ganz are introducing the brand new Webkinz Pet Of The Month Scheme on October 1st, with the Webkinz Frog as their first Webkinz Pet of the Month!
The way the Webkinz Pet Of The Month Works is that a Webkinz or a Lil Kinz is chosen randomly each month to be the Webkinz of the month.
The Webkinz Pet Of The Month will be announced by Ganz through the Webkinz Virtual Catalog and in Webkinz World, too. Webkinz of the month can be purchased any time, but adopting Webkinz of the month before it’s month will show a message on your Webkinz adoption center.
Webkinz Pet of the month, when adopted in that month, will bring a goody bag of kinzcash and other exclusive items, such as animated Webkinz ponds and Webkinz vehicles. Webkinz pet of the month will also bring its own Webkinz Virtual Exclusive Item which otherwise would not be available to purchase or to win!
With the Webkinz Pet Of The Month starting in October, Ganz have already announced that the Frog Webkinz will be the first Webkinz pet of the month.
We can’t wait for what else Ganz has in store for us - as we celebrate the introduction of the Webkinz Pet Of The Month
Webkinz World has been in high spirits the past week with a Webkinz World Scavenger Contest that is making many Webkinz fans into little Sherlock Holmes’s. The Webkinz World Scavenger Hunt was announced on the 23rd August and is now one of the largest Webkinz Contests in Webkinz World, with a single winner being announced on September 3rd (5 days!)
Now, although the Webkinz World Scavenger Contest is being held and many kids are getting involved with the Webkinz competition, Kinz-Land want’s to ask a pretty important question.
Is $10,000Kc Enough for one contest in Webkinz World?
10,000 is a nice number - it’s round, simple and relatively large. However, is it enough for a Webkinz World Contest?
Is $10,000Kc enough for Ganz to give away on Webkinz World?
Well, as ever, Kinz-Land have the answers and are here to give you them. You see, Webkinz World is now awash with many kids. Recent estimates place the number of Webkinz World players to be around the 3-4 million mark!
This means that possibly, in Webkinz World, there could be millionsof investigators rushing around to find the answers to the Webkinz Contest Clues.
Now, with so many kids (and adults) rushing around to find the clues and complete the Webkinz Contest, we here have been struggling to see how the Webkinz World Contest is worth a measily $10,000KC.
Our point is that there are so many Webkinz Lovers competing for the Webkinz World Contest Prize that $10,000 just isn’t enough for a single winner. Getting the 10,000 KC prize could have odds of over 1,000,000:1!!!
At Kinz-Land, we have been discussing and have come to the conclusion that there should be a special exclusive item crafted out especially for the Webkinz World Scavenger Contest.
Today we had another friendly friend join us, and his name is the Lil’ Kinz Googles! A lot of people will be excited to pick him up soon! He’s even softer and smaller than the Googles. Hooray!
Webkinz have become a blinding success in the two and a bit years that they’ve been around us. Now that Webkinz are a huge hit - just like most famous things, they are starting to get… errrm… similar coutnerparts.
Webkinz were created by Ganz in 2005 and have now taken America and Canada by storm! The latest Webkinz, the Black Cat Webkinz has been snapped up almost instantaneously. The Black Cat Webkinz was meant to come out for Halloween, but, as with most commercial products now, the Black Cat Webkinz has found its way onto our shelves and Webkinz Stores two months prior to Halloween. If you’ve already got a webkinz black cat, then you might want to name it with our 40 Names For Your Webkinz Black Cat article.
Because Webkinz have become so popular, many people are trying their best to take some of that “thunder” and use the now powerful Webkinz brand to their advantage. Many Webkinz sites online now have been a culpret of this, but are changing now.
One of the biggest reasons why Webkinz has become so popular is not only because of their amazingly high quality, or their extra cute designs, but because of how many people actually use and play on Webkinz World. Webkinz now has an estimated 4 million players. With that many other people has potential “friends”, many kids across the country are tuning in to Webkinz as a passtime they can enjoy with the majority of their friends.
4 Million people playing Webkinz World means that at least 4 million Webkinz have been sold, which acts as tasty bait for Webkinz rivals & competitors. One of the most well known Webkinz competitors is Shining Stars, which has been the source of a large debate in Our Webkinz Forum.
Shining Stars are, admittedly, almost a carbon copy of most Webkinz. With the same animal designs and the same idea of having secret codes used on a virtual Internet world, much like Webkinz World.
The only real difference that can be deduced between Shining Stars & Webkinz is the fact that Webkinz are generally better designed, with more elaborate and exotic materials being used on the Webkinz Animals.
Although Shining Stars are O.K, they are nothing special in my view. Their descriptions and prices all seem to suggest a weaker competitor to Webkinz and Webkinz World. Webkinz pride themselves on quality Webkinz Stuffed Animals at a price which reflects both the popularity of the Webkinz toys and the quality of the products.
Shining Stars, although they do look cute and adorable, don’t seem to be up to standard as far as quality is concerned. Webkinz also boast a bigger fanbase which is always going to win fans over to the Webkinz camp.
The biggest selling point for the Shining Stars is the fact that whenever you purchase a Shining Star, you get to name your own star, as well as have some proceeds automatically donated to charity - something that Webkinz currently does not do.
However the big sticking point with this, as any charitible business venture, is the fact that people buy a product such as Webkinz or Shining Stars because they like the product. If they wanted to doate to charity, I am sure they will take the time to do that seperately. The same goes for naming a star; whereby the star naming probably costs a fee for the Shining Stars company, which could be saved and passed onto the end user.
However you look at it - Shining Stars have performed a sure-fire marketing trait: Sell what’s already selling. Webkinz are currently HUGE and are also big business… something that Russ Berrie have seen and taken hold of with some pretty good results.
Shining Stars look to have started to advertise on TV, whilst Webkinz currently don’t need to delve into the depths of mass advertising just yet, with the huge popularity surge they are currently experiencing.
Personally - Webkinz are more appealing to me. Webkinz offers a more friendly, focused and popular Webkinz World to us, the Webkinz fans… whilst Shining Stars currently seems like a “gamble” to buy. By this, I mean they are the type of toy that you would probably buy once to check them out and see if you liked them… if you didn’t then it would be ony $15 down the drain.
Webkinz are the only stuffed animals for me - Shining Stars isn’t popular enough for me yet but still I will give them 10/10 for effort!
